A rare specimen

This Teddy bear made of high-quality mohair is an extremely rare breed of bear, for he is one of the few with a little tail. Turn the tail and our little bear comes to life and moves his head, thanks to a sophisticated neck mechanism invented by Hugo Steiff in 1931. However, there were no Steiff Teddy bears made with this mechanism until 1955, "only" dogs, cats, monkeys, elephants, lambs, penguins and ducks.

Steiff Black Watch Bear - UK & Ireland Exclusive

"The Black Watch" was the first kilted regiment in the British Army, and the first to introduce the bagpipes. It's the oldest Highland regiment and can trace a line back to 1624. The striking Steiff bear is made with the historically poignant black mohair and plays the most famous regimental march "The Black Bear".

As a clear indication of his exclusivity the Teddy bear wears a gold-plated "Button in Ear" and a white and red, consecutively numbered ear tag.
